Could we have some reports please – on things that have happened since we went webby? I did not make the winter solstice ceremony and would like to know how it went.
Hope it all went well for you all. I went to the national gathering event and although got back on time, I was knackered and had family demands to deal with (after having been away).

Hello Anna
It was my first ritual so I don’t know how it compares to others, but I thought the SOlstice Ceremony was lovely. It was very cold, but amazingly fine and sunny, with that beautiful light you can get sometimes on the short winter days, soft and slightly muted, but the kind of light which makes the greens and browns of the landscape extremely beautiful and clear. Other members knew the area, and had celebrated there often before of course, so had marked out a spot to celebrate in a grove shaded by a huge old holly tree. I’ve never seen such an enormous holly – its calm dignity and evergreen energy was there with us during the ritual. Tony had brought everything we needed, including sprigs of mistletoe and gold-painted oak leaves which were lovely tangible symbols of the season. The main impression I took from the ceremony itself was one of deep seriousness matched by deep joy. For myself I felt shy and a novice – this is the first time I’ve ever celebrated any of the 8 festivals with anyone else at all, and I’ve waited three years to do it – but the important thing on the day was the group focus and intention, and that was there, under the protection of the holly. Sorry, this sounds really inarticulate, I’m sure someone else could say more about what actually happened’ Bright blessings, and I hope to meet you soon.

Thanks for your post, Anna. You beat me to it!
I think what has happened is that we haven’t explicitly given people the task of writing up meetings. Perhaps I was vainly hoping that things would happen spontaneously in this more accessible medium. Clearly some prodding is needed, so thank you for prodding!
And thank you Francesca for your beautiful words. Anything but inarticulate. Would you mind if I moved it to the Reports section? It might inspire people to add their own.
Hilde

I don’t have anything to add to Francesca’s report, which summed it up perfectly – thanks Francesca! I went to the assembly as well so I was somewhat knackered that day but didn’t have family demands to add to it (unless Daniel counts, ha ha). I think we’ve all got out of the habit of writing up the meetings lately. I promise to do a report soon – honest!
