At the seed group at my place we produced a Renga (a Japanese poetic form to be written by a group). Renga means ‘linked elegance’. Each verse should be a seperate entity. The first is set in the present time and moves through the seasons (not necessarily in order) and should finish in Spring. Anna, Daniel, Lorraine, Hilde and new member Andrew worked together to produce the 40 verse Renga which is viewable on the Creative part of the site.
There are odd rules, which you can follow or not; we chose to honour 2; mention the moon in verse 3 and to only mention an insect once. Much fun was had (and a fair bit of chocolate!)

Thank you for that seed group, Anna. I had a really good time.
I was the last of four to arrive at Anna’s house. We had chocolate and chat, and then we started formal procedings with a light body visualisation.
I liked the informality of the session. We spent the whole time just chatting and eating chocolate, really. The poetry seemed to just flow out of our pens nearly without effort. I’m really proud of the verses I wrote, and impressed with other people’s.
I can’t wait to read it out at the Imbolc ceremony, and I feel inspired to write some poetry all my own!

I wish I could have attended this seedgroup! I love poetry. I’d never heard of renga before, but the poem you made is great. Thank you – I hope to hear it at the Imbolc ceremony.

I can’t say I was feeling fabulously inspired that day, but I enjoyed the event, the company and the chocolate (inevitably!) It’s good to see the finished poem in print form, it seems to pull together really well.
