London Tamesis Seedgroup

Filed under: Conversation — hilde @ 6:21 pm

We are the London Tamesis Seedgroup of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. We meet each month in selected places around London, for meetings, ceremonies, workshops, and walks.

Even though we no longer actively use this web site, it will give you a good idea of the kinds of activities and ceremonies we’ve had in the past, and are still having now.

There is a full programme of events for 2010. If you’re interested in coming along, please contact Cilla for details. Her address is “cilla at cillaconway dot com”.

We look forward to meeting you.

stanmore walk

Trui wrote the following:
8 of us met with intention of a long walk through forest, known to the Belgic Catavalauni tribe of the district
up until Roman times. Evidences of early occupation were evident in the Bushey Museum which we visited first, because of the constant rain. an ancient track named Brides Lane used to cross the area, with the local high point called Merry Hill, where recently a puddingstone cairn has been built. At the Museum was a collection of wedding dresses and a room devoted to the work of Sir Heinrich Herkomer, a German by birth, who became rich from his work as a famous portrait painter, with philanthropic ideals working within the pre-Raphaelite & Arts and Crafts movement of the time. He painted a portrait of Ruskin who was a personal friend.

Journey to the Group Spirit

Filed under: Conversation — hilde @ 1:54 pm

Under the great oak tree at Stanmore Commmon, many spirits gathered. There were the spirits I often work with, and many others, but they were more shadowy. They seemed to represent many people who had been involved with London Grove. I informed them: “I want to make a journey to the spirit of London Grove, to ask it what it needs.”

The Elements of the Bardic Path

Filed under: Conversation — hilde @ 10:17 am

Kirsten sent this (in case you didn’t get the e-mail):

A friend of mine who is not a druid, but follows the ‘Bardic Path’ has written a book called, ” The Bardic Handbook: the complete manual for the 21st Century Bard” published by Gothic Image. After Hilde’s fantastic workshop on Sunday, I felt inspired to organise a workshop with him for Bards who are at the start of their journey. Then it seemed to me that everyone could benifit from engaging in a bit of a creative writing workshop, so I asked him if he was prepared to provide us OBODies with something. The workshop will be on the 18th of July, from 7.30 to 9.30 pm at £10 per person.

Contact Kirsten if you want to take part: lunaxen at hotmail dot com

Here is a brief format of the workshop:
