Hi guys,
and,
Hello ‘Tamesis’ seedgroup.
Just dropping in a line to let you know I haven’t forgotton you all. :-))
As I indicated I have been working in a solo manner for this ritual year until Samhain comes again.
I have (as I anticipated) been up to eyeballs in finishing stuff off. I have completed my M.A (5 years now) and have been learing to drive, … finally. In regards to starting things I have been touring about looking for a new home outside London. I have also been finally braving local music sessions following my studies at the London Irish Centre. I opened a few tunes last week ! The music and ritual year has been a real continuity as much of energy was directed in emotionaly and practically finishing my studies.
This was another reason for my needing to be working alone, so as to understand my spirituality out of the context of others and understand how it might function. As you may recall I love group work and really benefited from the Samhain ceremony last year when I temporarlity parted from you all. I have been surprised at myself, as I expected to discover new things but instead I have infact found the experince so far a time of re-discovery of ritual and spirtual tools, the kernal of things. It has also taught me that my spiritual past as an evangelical/celtic Christain and my developing paganism are not mutualy exclusive. However I have also learnt that I therefore dont belong in either camp in regards to a shared world view. So much for an open mind.
From my occasional reviews it seems that the group is busy and productive. Its great to hear and hard as I am missing it all!
Anyway I am also posting as I hope to have permission to visit you all on Samhain as I planned.
I hope this is still okay. I would be aiming to re-aqaint myself while I look for a new home, which may mean I move away from the London area.
Let me know with a call. My landline number remains the same as in the contact info.
Anyway go well those I know and the new members. Have a good forthcomming season.
Mark Hassall.
It’s good to hear from you, Mark and I’m pleased to hear that that you’re now taking part in some sessions. I don’t think you need permission from anyone to come back.
I can understand the need to do more solitary work for a while, as I have felt that call to some extent in the past few months, although I have not felt the need to spend a set period of time away.
I don’t think Samhain has been planned yet. Recently we have been sending out a reminder email to people about a week before each event and also sometimes members have sent out details of other events they think would be of interest. Do you still have the same email and if so, do you want to be added to the list? If you think you might be moving, you might prefer to use a non-ISP address such as Yahoo.

Hi Mark,
How lovely to hear from you. I’m glad your year has been productive so far.
As Lorraine said: you don’t need permission to come to see us: you are always welcome. I’m supposed to be organising Samhain, actually. And so I’m supposed to contact Youth about it, which I still haven’t done. In fact, I feel inspired: I’ll send him an e-mail right now.
I look forward to seeing you in the near future.

Hi Mark –
Since the birth of Alfred Eric and Audrey Boudicca last November and our departure from London for Lancaster in June this year I too have been working on a solitary basis. There’s a time and a place for it, but I now feel the need to reconnect with a local Seedgroup. I too have been leearning to drive, and hopefully once that hurdle is jumped I’ll be able to venture further afield and meet up with the South Rheged Seedgroup that meets in Clitheroe. I’m intrigued to hear about your questing for a new home outside London, since it’s an adventure that we’ve also just undertaken. If you are ever in the environs of Lancaster and need a place to stay just drop me a line (brennand@gmail.com). There’s a spare bed here and we’re well situated for a trip to either the Forest of Bowland, the Lake District or a hop across the the Isle of Man.
In fact that invitation extends to everyone in the Seedgroup – I miss you all and hope that the wheel turns well for you.

Hello Mark,
welcome back – it is great to hear you had a productive and eventful year. And permission – one of the things I love so much about this group is the fact that we do NOT have to have permission for anything. All we are is glad for you to come back ;-))) So hope to see you at Samhain – I also wish to make it.
Moving out of London, I must admit is soimething I have also done, and I love it. It is such a change to wake up to the sun shining in my bed, and the birds singing than from being woken by a lorry driving by. And driving to work through forest and fields is so much nicer. I know there must be druids in London, but I for muself must say I am glad to have gotten away.
Hope to see you all soon – I have out Equinox in my diary, but am not sure I can do it – I am badly behind with my studies, and MUST hand in my essays on the 26th. As I am in Germany as well, this weekend might be my last chance. But I will try to do my very best.
Petra
