Rainy Blessings from Scotland to the Bright London area,
I am always jealous when I watch TV and see how much sun you get. I have settled in nicely in my new Scottish home, and are coming to grips with both the job and all the other problems that are associated with a move – such as getting bank accounts frozen, the car breaking down and having to find out where to get the necessities of life. Not a particularly good time in my life, I am afraid. But the people here are really nice, and I enjoy being here – the problems will sort themselves out, I hope. It just seems to be this way on every move….
I just read the accounts of the Beltaine Ceremony, which I found great – thanks Mark – and the seedgroup meeting in June. I never thought I would say it, but I miss London. Dundee has its own energy to it, but it is very different: both rougher, as Scotland is not as lush as as England, and calmer – life here is a lot more relaxed. I am always astonished when I walk across the roads in the morning and there is no congestion – Rush Hour here feels like a quiet Sunday morning in London.
Otherwise, I have just learned that there are seedgroups in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, so I am not completely on my own here. I think I will try to contact the latter at some stage, but probably for the Lughnasadh ceremony – Summer Solstice I plan to do in one of the glens here – weather permitting.
And if anyone would like to come and visit, give me a ring: 07786–953212 or 01382–452117. I am currently renting a huge house, so there is lots of space for visitors, even though beds are a bit limited.
I also have some pictures from the Beltaine ceremony, which I will send to Hilde to put on the website. If you are interested, I can also send the straight to you, just drop me a mail.
Petra
Hi Petra,
How wonderful to hear from you. I for one really appreciate hearing how you are doing. Sorry things are proving a bit difficult to start with, but as you say I’m sure the problems will sort themselves out.
The sun down here isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. A lot of the time we have warm weather, but the sun is hiding behind high clouds. Summer Solstice in a Scottish glen, now that is something to be jealous about!
Take care and stay in touch. You will no doubt get some visitors soon.
Oh yeah, can you remind Steffi to give me her contact details, please?
Lots of love,
Hilde

Good to hear from you Petra. Moving is really stressful, which is probably why I’ve stayed put here for the last 7 years or so. It’s good that you are finding the people friendly there, at least, and I guess all the teething problems will work out in a while. On the occasions when I moved away from London I think I noticed the difference in energy most of all when I came back for visits.

Hi Petra,
How nice to see your post ! I was very sorry to miss saying goodbye to you. I was at the Herbcraft Course at Beltane which was fantastic. I don’t think I’ve been the same since. Moving is always a pain and London exerts a strong pull even when you want to get away as I do now. But stay focused. Perhaps we can have a Tameisis Seedgroup expedition to Dundee some time.
Blessings of the inmpending Summer Solstice,
Liz

Hi Petra!
Thanks for your contact. I must admit I was motivated to write an account due to the ceremony being your last with us and im glad you appreciated it. Your wish to hold a ceremony (despite the weather) played a vital part in motivating us all.
I am busy checking out jobs in Scotland so I might take up your offer to come visit if something appears appealing in and around your area. I am looking around Lothian / Fife and Lanarkshire.
Hang in there Mrs!
Mark

Hi Mark,
good luck with the job hunt. Yes, come up and enjoy the area – Fife is just on the other side of Dundee, Lothian and lanarkshire are more in the South, unfortunately. But it is a really nice area, and people here are so friendly (most of the time), so I can only recommend it…
See you soon
Petra
