Beltain Camp

Filed under: Conversation — Andrew @ 7:14 pm

I know that a few of our members are there at the moment. Hopefully they will be able to tell all when we meet for the London Grove Beltain ceremony on Sunday… but just in case you are too wiped to make it, I would love to hear what the experience was like. Committing a week’s holiday when you only have four to dispose of is a big step, but I’m certain if you report positive experiences I will be able to plan to attend a camp some time in the next 12 months. So please, tell all!

  1. As I am doing exams at the moment, I do not have much time to write about anything else. And I really should not have gone to camp - I should have studied. But going was all worth it - the atmosphere was phantastic, and working with the Beltaine energy in a closed group was even better. I have got such a better feeling now for what Beltaine is really about, it was all a bit foggy before. But being there, feeling the energy, and feeling why this ritual is done makes all the difference to me.

I could feel it in the Beltaine ritual we did on the Sunday in London: It suddenly held a much bigger meaning than it had the year before, though the ritual in itself was nearly identical.

And yes, I know it is a big sacrifice as far as holidays go, but as for me: I decided to shorten my Summer holiday to save a few days so I can go to the Samhain Camp - it definitely is worth it. And I no longer worry about being cold, even in October: The heating is great in the yurts…
