Amelia is organising a canal boat trip on 3 July as our Summer social event. Do please note the early meeting time. This is not Druid time: the boat is unlikely to wait. If you want to come, please reply to this post by 23 June, so that we have an idea of numbers and Amelia can book some seats. It would be a shame if a lot of people turned up and found there was no more space in the boat!
This is the plan:
Meet at Perivale station at 12 noon, since the trip starts on that side of Horsenden Hill.
The boat leaves at 12.30 pm for a 1 hour 45 min trip. The trip costs £5.50
There is a bar on the boat and you can pre-book a ploughman’s lunch, with ham or cheese, which costs £4.50
So if you want to come, order your lunch at the same time.
I’m really looking forward to this one.
P.S. I have also posted this in the “Conversation” section, so that people are more likely to see it.
I think the pub name is the Black Horse. I’m OK with the price, and a canal trip appeals to me. Do you know if there is any choice with the lunch or do you just get one set meal?

I’m afraid that most weekends in July are a disaster for me apart from the last one… that’s why I volunteered to help organise Lughnasadh - so people wouldn’t think I’d disappeared. I think the visit to the Chelsea Physick Garden trip will be the last I see of you all until the end of July.

Well we haven’t had any ‘no’ votes so far on here to the canal idea. Is this decided yet?

Yes, I think so. My only worry is: will there be enough of us? I’ll be going, and so will Daniel and Lorraine by the looks of things. Does that make for big enough a party with Amelia and Mark?

Right, it’s all arranged. Seats and lunches have been booked. This is going to be fun.

Hi, sorry couldn’t make the Summer Ritual I actually got the Solstice dates wrong and I was all ready to come for last weekend. Duh…. I thought when I checked on this site only to discover it had already ocurred. Anyway it would be great to come ti this date. Im off to a flamenco concert in the evening so it would be lovely day out.
How are the seats for lunch being sorted as I saw Amelia last month and said I would be interested but this post doesn’t give a booking number.

I will be there on Sunday, too - is it not too late to come? I really adore boat trips, and are looking forward to it.
And lunch sounds good - could I get one as well?
