Hello to All,
I have chosen a site for the Alban Eiler Ritual, and decided not to do it in Osterley Park. Instead, I have found a really nice site in Richmond Park, with lots of ancient oaks around. Also, the park contains some 700 deer, both red and fallow deer, which are roaming free on the site. It should be a great setting for the ritual. Could we meet at 2pm at Richmond gate, near the Star and Garter home? It is easily accessible for people using the public transport, as it is close to Richmond tube. There are also parking spaces in and around the park, for those who come by car. I attach a link to the multimap for your convinience.
If you want to come, it would be nice if you gave me a call:
020–8575 8377 (please no calls to my mobile, as I left it in Hampshire a few weeks ago….)
Hope to see you there.
Petra
Hello everyone! Sorry I’ve been so quiet these last few months - we’ve been adjusting to our new life with Alfie and Boo. In fact I’m holding Alfie right this minute and typing with one hand… we’ve quite forgotten what life with two hands free is like :-). Since this is quite easy for me to get to I am going to apply for a day pass, so hopefully see you then. Quick news burst: twins really strong and healthy now, house in Lancaster bought and half moved into, and I learned last week that my application for teacher training has been accepted. We move to Lancaster in May and I start the PGCE in September. I think I’m the first Pagan they’ve had to apply to do RE! Am v excited.

Good to hear Alfie and Boo are thriving!

Hi Andrew! Great to hear from you. Things have been rather quiet around here without you.
I’m so glad the twins are doing well. A recent mother said: one should really grow and extra arm during pregnancy. Don’t know how that would work for the fathers, though…
See you at the Equinox.

Just a quick note for all attending the ceremony: If you could bring your brown books, as I have only a limited number of copies???
Also, as the wheel of the year is turning, and the time to sow seeds is coming up, could you give it a thought what it is you want to sow this year? Be it physical, emotional, spiritual, artistical….. And no, you don’t have to spell it out. There just will be a place in the ceremony to think about it, before you actually physically sow ;-))
Hope to see you there
Petra

All -
How are your seeds doing? Mine has really started to grwo in the last week! Could someone please remind me what type of plant/flower it is? My wife keeps calling it “the Druid Triffid” and I want to put her right…
Cheers,
Andrew.

Hello you all,
sorry, I meant to update you on the plant seeds, but then again, it slipped my mind. Anyway, now that Andrew asked:
The Plant is called Mirabilis Jalapa, Common Name Four O’Clock. It is a semi-hardy plant the flowers beautifully all through the summer, and comes in a number of colours, though mine are all yellow. However, as someone down the road has a a pink plant, and as I have picked the seeds from one of my plants, it might not come out yellow at all.
Here is a link on some of the characteristics:

They do well out in the garden or in a large pot outside. In winter, the plant dies down. The roots do not withstand a normal winter, snd should be taken out and kept cold and dark till the next spring. Alternatively, it seeds easily and, as you noticed, can be sown just as easily.
If you have any other colour than yellow, I would appreciate a few seeds back ;-))
Otherwise, good luck with it, and may it grow as strong as your dreams….

Mine is now about a foot tall and looking like it will soon be in serious need of repotting! I’m afraid I won’t be abl;e to make Beltane this Saturday, but you will all be in my thoughts. The move to Lancaster is now a mere 6 weeks away, but I hope to see you all one more time a’fore I go :-).

Good luck for the big move, Andrew!

We flowered today! Yellow I’m afraid, so no useful seeds.

Mine’s been flowering for a while (though definitely later than 4 o’clock in this hot weather) and that is also a yellow one. I think it has a strange scent which reminds me of sun lotion. Nice plant though, I hope to keep some seeds or tubers for next year.
