Winter Solstice

Jullie Bond will be leading the ceremony at Oxleas Wood, on Sunday, 16th December.

We’ll be meeting by the café (see directions) at 1pm, to make sure we have daylight all through the ceremony.

Map of the area The map from Google is here, but that doesn’t give you enough information. A lot of the grey space should be green, and there really is a mainline station and a path!

Transport: Main line rail to Falconwood (on the Dartford via Bexleyheath line from Charing Cross, Waterloo East and London Bridge). Walk up Rochester Way (see the map) towards the junction with Welling Way, cross over Welling Way and continue straight on to a footpath into the park which follows the edge of a wooded area. Follow the path and keep straight, ignoring all paths to the left and right until you come to the café.

Access by car to the car park is from the A207 (Shooter’s Hill), turning where the sign points to Oxleas Wood (beware, this is easy to miss). The café is within sight of that car park.

  3. I’m going back to the Isle of Wight on the 15th or possibly even earlier so sadly I’m going to miss this one.
My thoughts and blessings for the ceremony, I hope the Great Bear sends you a little warmth to ease the chill!

  5. Happy Solstice in advance, Chris. I’m sure you’ll be able to find somewhere magical on the island to mark the time.
