This section of the site helps established members of London Tamesis Seedgroup to use this site. Visitors won’t find much that is of interest here.
If you have come to two or more events organised by the Seedgroup, and established members agree, you are a full member of the group. You are entitled to full access to the site, so you can post articles of your own. Just click on ‘Register’ in the top right hand corner and follow instructions. It’s also a good idea to tell Hilde that you’ve done this, so she can upgrade your membership of the site, which enables you to post.
Anyone whose name is not recognised by the site administrator will not be given the privilege to post new articles.
Please read through the articles below to find out what you can do.
If you see a post that causes you concern, do e-mail Hilde and let her know. Action will be taken as soon as possible.

Event Calendar entries are now available in ‘vCalendar’ format. This means that you should be able to view them through you desktop calendar program. It works on iCal for the Macintosh. It should work on newer versions of Microsoft Outlook too.
The calendar is at this address: http://www.theraven.org.uk/vcalendar.php
Let me know if you like this feature, or if you have problems.

Sorry for the recent availability problems. Our upstream service provider is responsible, and I’m very unhappy at the level of service they’ve given us. I’ve just spoken to their network engineer, and he found our server powered-off! Despite my repeated calls to the help-desk, my direct phone call was the first he had heard of the problem!
Hopefully we should be OK from now on, but I’ve no way of guaranteeing that. I’m looking into alternative providers in case it happens again.

The ‘theraven.org.uk’ mail server is now up and running. If you would like an e-mail address, then let me know: alex@firetree.net, or just add a comment to this article. First come first served.
You can receive e-mail through your normal e-mail program, use the online webmail, or just have mails forwarded to another address.

The calendar box to the right has a new link. Under the title latest comments there is a link called ‘see all…’ It should be quite obvious what that does.
This way, you won’t have to go through the whole site to see if anyone has left a comment lately. It should make the site easier to use.

“The Raven” banner appears at the top of each page. When you are logged onto the site, you will be able to see the word ‘Edit’ underneath the search field in the top right hand corner.
To add a new post, click ‘Edit’. This will take you into the gubbins of the site. It takes you straight to the window that will let you write new articles (the word ‘Write’ is highlighted on the top of that page).
Simply write your post into the window. When you are ready, click the ‘Publish’ button at the bottom. Your post is now visible on the web site. You can check this by clicking on ‘View site >>’ at the top of the page.
When adding new posts do make sure that
• you have given your post a title.
• you have placed the post in the correct category by clicking on the correct category in the list to the right of the page.
You can always go back to your own posts and edit them. You can’t edit other people’s posts, but you can comment on them. Find out how to do that in the article ‘Adding comments’.
Happy posting,
Hilde
This is even easier than adding new articles.
At the bottom of each article you will find a link that looks like this: ‘Comments (1)’. The number between brackets tells you how many comments have been made on that article. To read them, simply click the link.
At the bottom of the page where you can read the comments, there is a window for you to write your own comments. Add your thoughts and when you are ready, click the ‘Say it!’ button beneath. Your comment will now be added to the article. You can always go back to edit your comments.
Wishing you inspiring conversations,
Hilde
